Writing, and time to write, comes in spurts for me. I typically have a dozen or so thoughts or ideas in various forms of composition, but it is interesting to see how some topics or events rise to the top. I’m sure it is the focal points that I’m working on through my personal, professional, and spiritual life that find their way into the life I’m working on in diapers as well.. They tend to interweave into ways that I can learn from them and grow in different ways. It is the culmination of experiences throughout my different parts of my life that make me the whole of who I am.
It is important then that you make time for the various aspects of our lives. Finding and nurturing the good in each part of my life while also working to trim out the negative aspects are important for continual growth. Finding time to journal and blog allows me to step back and see what some of those themes are.
We often are so close to our experiences that we don’t see the small, daily changes. We need good people around us, as well as documentation efforts like journaling, to help us see the gradual changes that we may miss.
Early on with diapers I was way too hard on myself. Any growth that I may have made would be knocked out with one pass in front of a mirror while wearing a diaper after I allowed negative emotions to enter into my mind. It has taken the trendable, recorded data in my writing and blog posts that have enabled me to see the growth that was occurring.
While you work for improvement in any aspect of your life:
- Make goals
- Write them down
- Hold yourself accountable
- Reflect
- Adjust
- Keep going!
The PDCA cycle pops into mind here as well. Make sure you are adjusting and acting on those adjustments. Never allow yourself to get complacent in a rut. Find the aspect of yourself, inside or outside of diapers that needs improved, and attack it.

Every day, find a way to make things a little bit better. There will be days when we stumble, fall, and fail but we must persist in working. For me, one of the many things I must continue to work on is making time for myself to be able to journal and write. It is far too easy for other things to get in the way, and only I can make the time.
Make the time, take the time.
